Always fascinated by the brain, Leonard studied extensively the research of Roger Sperry and the results of the split brain operations of P.J. Vogel and J.E. Bogen in the early 1970’s. This provided him with the launching pad for a series of lectures about the brain and eventually led to his correlation between between Art & Physics and their respective representation of the right and left hemispheres. “Art & Physics” has recently been released in a new edition, and has been translated into six foreign languages and is required reading at major universities around the world.
Leonard’s fourth book about Leonardo Da Vinci “Leonardo’s Brain: The Right – Left Roots of Creativity” is nearly completed and in typical Leonard Shlain fashion he is determined to finish it
